I am a successful software executive with General Management, CMO and CFO skills. I know that is an eclectic mix, but true. Over the past 20 years I have had deep experience in B2B software companies, including one stint as a public CEO, and another experience taking a company public as CFO and CMO. I am mostly a generalist, but I deeply understand what it takes to scale a business from Series B to IPO. Scale is mostly about culture, strategy, BPM (Brand, Positioning, Messaging), systems development (processes), values, technology, and people development; as As hire As, and Bs hire Cs. Most recently, I was the COO of Metavine. As I was there for only seven months, it did not work out as I would have hoped. Metavine has a great idea, a wonderful product, and some great people. I hope they pull it off and wish them every good outcome. Previously, I was the CMO, CFO, and GM of Xactly (IPO in 2015 NYSE: XTLY). I joined as their CFO in 2010 when they were at $15M and left in 2016 as their CMO where they had scaled to $90M and went public, now with a market cap of nearly $500M. In addition, I am currently on the Board of Sustainable Brands. Until recently I was a Trustee at the Los Gatos Union School District. I am active politically, as I believe it is our duty as citizens to engage in public process. On a personal note... this year's presidential election sucks. I hold an MBA in finance from Santa Clara University. My first principles include: leadership, people development, curiosity, systems thinking, respect and tenacity.
