I have more than ten years of research experience in neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and Huntington disease. My major contributions are in identifying anti-tau antibodies, generated using immunopurified PHF-tau as antigen, displaying significant efficacy against tau pathology. The highlight of my experience includes: 1.Led a program for antibody characterization, conducted in vivo efficacy studies with these antibodies using passive immunization, and established a spreading model for Alzheimer’s disease. 2.Led an efficacy study using vectored anti-tau antibody immunotherapy in animal models. As part of this project, I established several platforms for evaluating the efficacy of antibodies. These include an in vivo platform for efficacy studies with transgenic mice, as well as a platform to measure and evaluate the distribution and expression of antibodies delivered by vectors via different administration routes. 3.Investigated the role of how mitochondrial dysfunction in the progression of Parkinson Disease. 4.Generated Huntington transgenic mice for Huntington research by constructing a full length Huntington BAC that carried 226Q.
