Chris Santarsiero is Director of Public Affairs for VITAS Healthcare®, one of the nation’s oldest and largest providers of end-of-life care. Based in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, Chris provides public policy guidance and advocacy for legislative and regulatory issues in Connecticut, Washington, D.C., Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Prior to joining VITAS in April 2007, Chris served as senior partner of DePino Associates, LLC, a consulting firm based in New Haven, Connecticut. He began his lobbying career in 1999, representing clients at the state legislature, executive offices and federal government on bonding, charter schools, Head Start, healthcare, energy conservation, insurance, regulatory finance, public education, voting technology, labor and tribal recognition. Chris was executive director of the Connecticut Republican Party for state chairmen Chris DePino and Herb Shepardson. In 2002 and 2003 he was honored as Mentor of the Year by the Connecticut Union of College Republicans for his work with student activists. He has served as a delegate to several state and congressional conventions. Chris graduated from La Salle University in Philadelphia with majors in communications and English. He lives in Old Saybrook, Connecticut with his wife, Heather and three children Willow, Tess and Leonardo. In his spare time, Chris enjoys CrossFit, following politics and traveling with his family.
