Principal Software Engineer responsible for architecture and advanced software platform development. Manage and contribute to projects and schedules, and have extensive direct customer interaction. Experience in hiring and evaluating new hires & contractors. Architect and support the software platforms used on Veeco's market-leading Process Equipment for the Data Storage and other industries. Extensive experience working directly with other Engineering disciplines, Marketing, Production, and Field Support. I bring over 23 years of experience in writing custom machine-control applications software for embedded / real-time, PC and PLC-controlled systems, and several years of group lead and team management. The systems I have worked on are currently producing products, around the world, 24/7, in a variety of industry markets. I am goal-oriented, and driven by new challenges. Specialties: Software requirements / specification documentation, architecture and design, implementation, testing, and documentation of custom control applications. I can work with customers to identify needs, and ensure that those needs are met. Technologies implemented in my systems include: Discrete digital and analog I/O (EtherCAT, DeviceNet, and other types) power supplies, motion, gas flow (MFC), high vacuum components and systems, heating and cooling, Ion Source, PVD, ALD, CVD, DLC, and other thin film source technologies, vision systems and material positioning and alignment equipment.
