I am a spatial analyst with specialized skills in marine acoustic processing, image processing and remote sensing of marine environments. I have twelve years experience in mapping the seafloor for habitat characterization, sediment classification and benthic community assessment. I have worked on two major national biodiversity programs establishing acoustic processing protocols for error and uncertainty and estimation of seafloor change using multibeam acoustics. My current research agenda is to examine the national capacity for monitoring the seabed and reporting on coastal and shelf ecosystems. I have recently established research projects in Antarctica to examine 'upward' looking acoustics from AUV platforms to map the underside of the ice sheet.
