The United States Department of Agriculture is the United States federal executive department responsible for developing and executing U.S. federal government policy on farming, agriculture, and food. It aims to meet the needs of farmers and ranchers, promote agricultural trade and production, work to assure food safety, protect natural resources, foster rural communities and end hunger in the United States and abroad.

Deborah manages pubic relations for the Rural Development mission area of the U.S. Department of Agriculture for the state of Georgia. She’s a graduate of Skagit Valley College in Washington State and a U.S. Navy Veteran with experience in varied sectors such as military communications, nonprofit management, community volunteerism, and local environmental issues. She was born in the metro-Detroit area and is known for her visionary and creative spirit in planning events and coordinating special projects. In 1991 she pioneered the chain-wide recycling program for Star (movie) theatres across the state of Michigan. She is Certified QPR (Crisis communication for suicide prevention) , s a Georgia Master Gardener and 2010-2012 member of the Keep America Beautiful Commission. Energetic, organized project coordinator adept at assessing situations, developing procedures, and coordinating the most effective implementation of the organization’s internal and external processes. Talented customer relationship manager and special events planner. Accomplished technical and creative writer with experience in website management, training development, and strategic planning. Flexible, reliable professional with a track record of superior results in federal and local governments, non-profit, higher education, military, and corporate sectors. Passionate about mental health, botany and plant systematics, recycling, composting, gardening, local and sustainable foods, and the fair and equitable distribution of economic opportunity.
