I have over 33 years of experience working in Information Technology within the Media industry. My most recent position was as Vice President of Technology Support Services for Gannett. In this role I led a strong team, both on-shore and off-shore, providing support services across the enterprise. Most recently, I led the post-merger efforts to combine the support organizations of GateHouse Media and Gannett. I am passionate about staff development and process improvements; both are cornerstones to my leadership strategies. Providing staff with opportunities for learning and development are key for staff retention. Encouraging staff to work outside their comfort zone without fear of reprisal encourages staff to try; resulting in innovation and overall job satisfaction. Technology Support Services organizations are constantly challenged to complete the mission with fewer and fewer resources (budget and staff). Process Improvement are required to maintain support levels. Across Gannett I have championed the enterprise support model - the ability to provide support to anyone from anywhere. This approach relies on staff having the tools, knowledge and discipline to take responsibility for support across all horizons.
