Darin Torosian is responsible for the people functions of nearly 24,000 Supply Chain and Manufacturing associates at the Kroger Co. This includes providing the strategic leadership for Human Resource, Labor Relations, Talent Development, Associate Engagement and Safety. The Kroger Co., headquartered in Cincinnati, OH, spans many states with store formats that include grocery and multi-department stores, convenience stores and mall jewelry stores. The Kroger Co. operates under over two dozen banners, all of which share the same belief in building strong local ties and brand loyalty with their customers. Darin began his career in 1997 as a labor specialist with the Toyota and General Motors joint venture (NUMMI) in Northern California. He held several HR related positions within NUMMI until joining The Kellogg Company in 2004. At Kellogg Darin was the Human Resource Manager for the world’s largest cereal plant, Associate Director of Positive Employee Relations and Director of Labor Relations. In 2014 Darin joined Kroger as Director of Human Resources and Labor Relations for Peyton Logistics. In 2015 he assumed Human Resources responsibility for the 40+ Logistics Distribution Centers and in 2016 he added the Supply Chain Group and Safety. Darin was promoted to his current role in 2019 with additional Human Resource and Labor responsibility for the 30+ Manufacturing Plants and the e-Commerce Home Delivery / fulfillment network. Darin earned his bachelor’s degree from Creighton University and his MBA from Walden University. He also holds SPHR designation through the Human Resources Certification Institute and SPHR-CP through the Society of Human Resources Management. Darin is a management trustee on the largest private sector multi-employer pension plan in the United States. He is also the current secretary of the IBT Consolidated Pension Plan and the former treasurer for The Association of Food and Dairy Retailers, Wholesalers and Manufacturers and has presented nationally on several innovative and successful labor relations strategies.
