I am retired after nearly fifty years of working in several different high-technology industries. I spent most of my career in corporate strategy and global business development in three different industries. In my corporate roles, I lead functional groups such as strategic planning, business development, M&A, governmental & regulatory affairs, and financial planning. I have been responsible for expanding domestic businesses internationally, forming joint ventures and strategic partnerships, and I have initiated and closed M&A transactions throughout the world. Along the way I did several tours in general management including tenures as; Group VP & GM in the automotive service equipment industry; Owner/CEO of a Business Valuation and M&A consulting practice which I co-founded and lead for three years; and the startup GM of the International Business Unit of a leading Cable TV equipment company. I have a very broad field of interest and have been called on many times in a variety of industries to analyze, evaluate, and help to implement or troubleshoot; business and market opportunities, acquisition prospects, and troubled business units. Before I retired from the Cable TV industry my main research interests were things on the horizon then which have since emerged such as; targeted TV advertising, audience measurement, behavior modeling, consumer privacy, authentication, identity, reputation, social networks, digital rights management, content security and search retrieval technologies. I have continued to follow developments in these areas and occasionally do consulting related to them.
