Prior to taking up the security position in CLP, Charles has already spent more than 10 years in the application development discipline leading IT solutions delivery. In CLP, Charles is responsible to establish management directives (written policies) on information security across the Group, provide risk advisories for information processing, transmission and storage facilities. This includes everything - business process/applications, IT/Telecom infrastructure, energy control systems and unstructure information. He also delivers user awareness talks, leads project to deploy new security technologies, collects intelligence and advise emerging information security threats to the Group. Since taken up this roles, he has progressively acquired the essential credentials in this field. He also contributes voluntary works such as examination development for the security communities. He strongly believes effective information security protection is beyond technology because every technology has its own limitations. Strengthening the human platform is the key. After completing the employment terms in CLP (the energy sector), Charles moves to the Insurance sector. The roles is to manage risk, security and compliance regarding technical infrastructure in multiple regions of the Asia Pacific in the AXA Group. Charles has also acted as an Advisor of CIO Academy Asia regarding Cybersecurity matters.
