As President of Sun Life Financial U.S., I oversee the U.S. insurance businesses, including a leading stop-loss and group benefits business, an expanding voluntary benefits business, and Sun Life Financial International, which serves the growing international high-net-worth market. In 2016, Sun Life Financial U.S. completed its acquisition of Assurant Employee Benefits. Prior to my time at Sun Life, I most recently served as President, Specialty Businesses, for Aetna. I began my career at MassMutual and later joined New York Life and NYLCare Health Plans of Maine, playing an active role in the merger of New York Life and Sanus to create NYLCare. I hold a medical degree from Boston University, and I’m a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society and the Maine Medical Association, and I’m an active board member of Spurwink Services.
