Established in 1899, South University is a private academic institution dedicated to providing educational opportunities for the intellectual, social and professional development of a diverse student population. I am currently teaching part-time in the Psychology and Mental Health Counseling Departments at South University, where I teach a variety of courses including psychopharmacology, sensation and perception, abnormal psychology and child and adolescent disorders. I am also working as a consultant to recovery centers wishing to implement health and wellness programs, and managing a private practice in individual and group therapy. I am a cognitive-behavioral and somatic therapist; in the latter capacity I am dedicated to furthering yoga therapy as a recognized treatment modality. Over the period 2011-2012 I served as chairperson for education, training and standards for the Florida Mental Health Counselor's Association. Specialties: I specialize in biopsychology and somatic therapies. I am a licensed counselor and a Clinical Supervisor for prospective LMHC's in the State of Florida. I am a yoga therapist. I use talk therapy, coaching and somatic methods to help bring about positive change. I also design individual programs for health and fitmess, including nutrition, strength and conditioning, aerobic fitness, balance, range of motion and energy balancing.
