When I was a kid, I fell in love with three things: computers, music, and acting. Computers led me to a career in Information Technology and allowed me to use my natural affinity for math. Music taught me discipline, gave me leadership positions, and introduced me to people that would impact the course of my life. Acting gave me comfort with the spotlight on me. Over the years in the IT field, I have had success working for multiple federal government agencies and Fortune 100 companies. I was able to see how technology impacts our lives at the highest levels when I supported the Marine Corps during Operation Enduring Freedom and DHS during Hurricane Katrina. I’ve led and contributed to the successful delivery of multi-million dollar projects. As I moved from individual contributor to a leader, I remained in learning mode and sought mentorship from those who had success before me. I sought out to emulate the leaders that influenced me. Reading books like "The Compound Effect" and "The Slight Edge" have and will continue to shape my life, as I am much more conscious of every decision I make and more important, the impact those decisions have on others. I have a passion for helping people grow and improve themselves. Giving and receiving mentorship has been a big part of my career. Success has also come for me working in Agile environments.
