I'm an editorial leader, journalist, author and strategist with extensive experience as both a content creator and manager across digital, broadcast, and print. At CNET, the storied 25-year-old consumer advice, news and reviews brand, I manage a team of experienced reporters covering the vast consumer technology industry, producing highly-cited product reviews, multi-platform video content, and in-depth consumer reporting. Bridging the gap between editorial and marketing, I use careful analysis of traffic and audience metrics to drive social media and YouTube strategy, pushing unique visitor and commerce goals, both of which have hit new records in 2020 for CNET, despite the pandemic. As a broadcaster and tech industry expert, I'm a regular on television, radio and podcasts, and frequently appear as the in-house technology expert on CBS This Morning. I've written extensively about the intersection of technology, media, and interactive entertainment for publications including SPIN, Men's Journal and Blender. My 2016 non-fiction business history book, 'The Tetris Effect' (Hachette/PublicAffairs), covered a tangled web of software licensing deals in the Cold War Soviet Union, and has been reviewed in the New York Times, Fortune, LA Review of Books, and many other publications. As an entrepreneur and small business leader, my start-up, OhSwell Games, manufactures tabletop games in China and distributes them worldwide.
