I am a leader in the international development community with 21 years experience. Eleven of these years included working overseas on long-term assignments in a number of countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and South East Asia. I am an energetic and focused leader driving innovation and business growth in my team and in the organization. Known as an excellent communicator and listener, I am a natural connector of people, ideas and initiatives. I am a collaborator across teams, able to identify and encourage 'outside the box' thinking in myself and others. This results in creative technical expansion of our work, growth in our key markets, and positive impact to the countries and communities where we work. I deliver equally well on tactical and strategic tasks. I've successfully led several initiatives requiring alignment among different stakeholders, change management and delivery in tight timeframes. My overseas experience includes technical project work in India, Indonesia, Montenegro, Pakistan, South Africa, and Uganda. I have also worked extensively in India, Indonesia, Jordan, the Philippines, and South Africa on strategic positioning and business development. I have held both long- and short-term assignments for the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and its contractors, Australian Aid, the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank. I have extensive experience in working with host country counterparts. My technical experience is in numerous elements of public finance including education finance, implementing local governance support programs, urban service delivery, fiscal decentralization, own-source financing for local government, intergovernmental grants, and local economic development. My leadership and managerial skills include strategic positioning and planning, client and partner engagement and relationship building, public speaking, project design and implementation, proposal leadership, and team building and staff management.
