Community and Employee Engagement Coordinator at RK

RK is one of the regionas suppliers of construction, manufacturing and service solutions.

Katie Bedard Dell serves as Community and Employee Engagement Manager for Denver based RK. Her role with the company has evolved since starting in 2010 and now includes planning employee engagement events, community outreach and managing RK Cares, the company’s corporate social responsibility program she helped to create. In addition, Katie organizes corporate peer group meetings, assisted in the development and implementation of RK’s project manager training program and supports the corporate officers. Prior to her work at RK, Katie was an event manager for the Downtown Denver Partnership and the Milwaukee Association of Commerce. For these civic associations, she was coordinated annual membership luncheons, business to business and networking events as well as large community events, festivals and parades. Following her graduation from Colorado State University with a BA in Technical Journalism and a Political Science minor, Katie moved to Washington DC. Her first position was with the Office of the US Trade Representative, and shortly thereafter she became a member of the White House staff in the Office of Presidential Personnel. Upon returning to her home state of Colorado, she started her career in event planning and worked on a wide variety of events in Denver and eventually in Milwaukee and Nashville. In 2018, Katie completed a certificate program in Corporate Social Responsibility at the University of Colorado, LEEDS School of Business. This program aligns with her passion for volunteerism and giving back to the community. In addition to extensive volunteering at her children’s school and their sports teams, she also coordinates monthly group volunteer activities for her company and serves as the Board Chair for the Westerly Creek Metropolitan District, as a member of the Board of Directors for the RK Foundation, a member of the Board of Directors of the new RK Cares Foundation and as a member of the Board of Directors for B:CIVIC.
