I am an experienced technology executive that uses a collaborative and risk-based approach to ensure information assets, critical systems and people are adequately protected in our modern and complex digital world. My current role as the Group CISO for Monash University leads the Cyber Risk & Resilience function and holds responsibility for establishing and maintaining the vision, strategy and transformation program for a complex global organisation with A$2.7 billion in annual revenue. I am a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and am committed to playing an active role in the cyber security community. I am part of the AISA Executive Advisory Board, an Adjunct Associate Professor at Deakin University and an industry advisor to cyber security startup accelerator Cyrise. In 2021 I was named a Fellow of the Australian Information Security Association (FAISA). In addition to 20 years of enterprise IT experience across various roles covering operations, architecture, strategy, management and leadership within numerous industries in Australia and the UK, my industry certifications include the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) security certifications, Enterprise Architecture certification (TOGAF 9), ITIL Foundations & Intermediate level certification, Microsoft certifications (MCSE: Private Cloud being the most recent), as well as a Bachelor of Network Computing Degree & Diploma of Information Technology.
