After serving as Program Co-ordinator with the Social Planning Council of Kingston, Monica became the founding Executive Director of the Kingston District Community Information Centre, served as Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Greater Kingston, and served as the Co-ordinator of Faculty Recruitment and Support at Queen’s University until her retirement in 2022. Monica Stewart is a graduate of Queen’s University (B.A. Honours ‘79, M.A.’81). Monica’s professional activities have included membership in many community and government task forces, committees and working groups: •the Transatlantic Community Foundation Network •Chair of the Community Information Online Consortium •Community Advisory Committee of the Self Employment Benefit Program •Chair, Government Relations Committee of the Association of Community Information Centres in Ontario •President of the Association of Community Information Centres in Ontario Current and past community involvements include: •Chair, Board of Trustees Kingston Frontenac Public Library •Member, Board of Directors, Kingston Employment and Youth Services •Staff Co-Chair, Queen’s Community Appeal •Co-chair, Kingston Immigration Partnership Council •Chair, KFPL Central Branch Renovation Committee •various United Way Campaign positions, including Co-chair, Agency Division •Membership on the Grant Review Committee of the Ontario Trillium Foundation Specialties: Fluent in English and German, read French.
