I’m a builder at heart. I founded Butterfleye, an IOT & smart home startup backed by notable Silicon Valley angel and venture institutional investors. With $7M, my team and I built and shipped a complex connected-device product & service powered by machine learning and advanced cloud-based intelligence. I grew the team from 0 to 30 employees across various disciplines. Ooma Inc (an American publicly traded consumer telecommunications company. Ticker: OOMA (NYSE)) acquired Butterfleye in 2017 and I joined as VP/GM of the video solutions team reporting to the CEO. Prior to founding Butterfleye, I had held various product management, general management, and engineering roles. I’ve led the development of many different technologically advanced hardware and software products from conception through mass production and eventually end of life. I have been recognized as a 'Change Agent' by USA Today, supported by my background at Texas Instruments, Maxim, Intel, and InFocus. I have written and published technical articles on audio/video connectivity as well as multiple patents pending in this space. In 2015, it was my honor to be the commencement speaker for the graduating class of EECS students at Oregon State University. I made the speech about “entrepreneur of life” and some parallels about the life of an immigrant and the life of a tech entrepreneur/founder. Speech is on Youtube. Also later OSU awarded me to their Council of Outstanding Early Career Engineers. When my schedule has allowed I’ve been a guest lecturer at EECS college of OSU, a few other universities and I currently serve as a strategic advisor for various startups.
