Learning about human psychology, history and culture, and how they affect the decision making and lifestyles of people is something that interests me a lot. Consumers do not make decisions in a vacuum- their logic is rational yet irrational. On the contrary, an individual’s ultimate purchasing decisions are influenced by a multitude of factors and preferences including culture, socio-economic status, peers, geographical location and demographic factors. Therefore, optimising between rationality and irrationality through the right messaging at the right place and the right time to influence the consumer’s decision is what I enjoy through marketing. The art of making my product the go-to-product in my consumer’s mind with/without their realisation for its need, is ultimately marketing for me. In my previous stint in Ola, I led the marketing for its launch in London which turned out to be its most successful international launch ever. London was an extremely competitive market with entrenched players like Uber, Kapten and Bolt which made my first international stint even more exciting. As someone who always aspired to be at the epicentre of marketing activities for the brand, it was a great opportunity for me to showcase my passion for learning about consumer needs and behaviour in a new market and driving campaigns to influence them at every stage of their journey with the brand. Prior to the UK assignment, I was the category marketing manager for two high-ticket categories for Ola in India. My marketing skills include- leading Go-To-Market for product launches, and customer acquisition initiatives; driving 360-degree multi-channel (online/offline) ATL campaigns; managing creative agencies to pitch, ideate and develop creative assets; overseeing media agencies to define the target audience, segmentation, and media mix for online/offline channels; steering market research, and developing/implementing communication frameworks across the customer lifecycle; leading a team of international content writers, designers, and analysts. Before moving to the marketing role, I had a stint in enterprise sales for over 2 years as a Key Account Manager for Ola Corporate Solution(Ola’s tech platform for corporate travel). My clientele included large and medium-sized companies across India. I started my career as a Management Trainee in Vodafone-Idea in their Enterprise Business Unit for postpaid solutions.
