I am Project Management and Procurement professional with more than 25 years of enriched experience in core areas of Shipbuilding/Shipping, Procurement and Contracts. Over these years, starting in Shipping Corporation of India in year 1995, I acquired comprehensive knowledge of ship design, ship construction, project management and shipping operations especially goods procurement and service contracts. I have had opportunity to represent several technical advisory (TA)/vessel acquisition committees/Task force as an expert member. I am presently Nodal Officer for MSME procurement and Government E Market Place (GEM) Procurement. During the initial phase I worked on many challenging shipbuilding projects and later on managed procurement of goods and services for entire SCI fleet. I graduated from IIT Kharagpur with Bachelor of Technology (Honours) in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering and later completed Executive MBA in Strategic and Marketing Management from Indian Institute of Management Rohtak. Presently I am designated as Head (Procurement and Service Contracts) overseeing almost Rupees 2500 Crore worth of annual procurement of essential stores comprising lube oil, bunker fuel, marine paints, marine chemicals, electronic charts and several other stores for supply onboard ships which is more challenging than onshore supplies as it requires very good planning and execution. I am also in-charge of contracts encompassing diversified services such as air ticketing, containers storage and handling, record management, service launches, fresh water supply to ships, container transportation services, ship to shore communication(VSAT and Fleet Broadband) and several other services. I have good knowledge of goods contracts and represent on various tender processing committees responsible for finalization of goods contracts. I believe that I have required capability and competency coupled with relevant experience to deliver results in areas of project Management, Procurement and Contracts.
