Rami is a technologist, venture capitalist and CEO who’s making a positive impact through his work and leadership. Rami built one of the most successful medical technology companies and earned recognition as an EY Entrepreneur of the Year, as one of the top CEOs in the U.S. and as one of the top CEOs for women and diversity. Rami serves as a start up advisor, a guest lecturer, keynote speaker, and as a judge for the Entrepreneur of the Year program. Rami currently serves as Chairman and CEO of Arcellx, a clinical stage biotechnology company developing a novel cell therapy platform for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune disorders. Prior to Arcellx, Rami served as President and CEO of Nevro, where he joined in 2012. Under his leadership, Nevro grew from a small private company of nearly thirty people to a disruptive player approaching one thousand people, transforming a market and earning recognition for both business results as well as an innovative and diverse culture. Rami was responsible for fundraising over $700M through venture capital, IPO and follow on public markets, orchestrating one of the most successful product launches scaling to $320M in 3.5 years through a differentiated brand and model, and forming the company’s long term strategy through a combination of new market identification, creation of new research functions, and R&D and strategic investments. Nevro increased over 15X in value since Rami joined and on average was valued over 300% above IPO pricing during his tenure as CEO. Prior to joining Nevro, Rami was an investor with Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation (JJDC), where he led several investments, including Nevro’s Series B Financing. Rami served on the boards of directors of several private companies and led a number of strategic initiatives. Rami began his career as a design engineer at Advanced Neuromodulation Systems, where he led firmware design and development on several products receiving 2 patents. Rami received an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and holds a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rutgers University School of Engineering.
