Production Manager of Assembly and Paint

Establishments primarily engaged in manufacturing lawnmowers, lawn and garden tractors, and other lawn and garden equipment used for home lawn and garden care. Also included are establishments primarily engaged in manufacturing snowblowers and throwers for residential use.

Raised in a small farming community. Gradualted Palmersville HS class VP and top 5 in my class in 1984. Member of the Tennessee National Guard for 10 years and went to Basic Training in 1984 Fort Dix NJ, and on to AIT Fort Lee VA, with a military degree in Equipment , Parts and Logistics Specialist. Started work at MTD at the age of 18 as an assembler, Team leader over assembly at age 20 and Salaried Foreman at age 23. Supervisor over all assembly areas at age 28. Group leader over assembly, hang lines, paint lines, and tire assembly operations at age 35. Promoted to Assembly Manager at age 42 and joined the plants Senior Leadership Group. Through my 30 year career here at MTD Products in Martin TN, I have also been thru a multitude of classes in house and at the UNIVERSITY of TENNESSE at MARTIN and MEMPHIS STATE for management development, team building, lean, working with crossfunctional groups only to name a very few. Currently I manage all assembly areas and engineering as to pretains to product developement and pilots. Assist and advise in our Hang and paint areas. Member of advise and participate on our Senior Leadership group at our facility as far as management, policy and day to day operations.
