Mitek Systems, Inc. (Mitek) is engaged in the development and sale of software solutions. The Company is focused in document image processing and image analytics. It also focuses on intelligent character recognition and forms processing technology, products and services used in the financial services markets. It also develops fraud detection and prevention products, which find signatures on any document and, using algorithms, convert them into compact numeric codes, which are then compared against one or more reference codes of trusted signatures for signature verification. It refers to this software product as Mobile Capture. Mobile Capture technology converts a camera-equipped mobile phone into a mobile scanner that has the ability to read and extract data from any digital photo or video image. During the fiscal year ended September 30, 2008 (fiscal 2008), the Company offers and produces document image processing and image analytics.

Bruce Hansen brings three decades of experience building companies across the burgeoning big data, AI/analytics, and software industries. He also has significant corporate governance expertise at both public and private-equity backed companies. Currently, Hansen serves as board chair at Verisk Analytics, Inc. (S&P 500; NASDAQ: VRSK) and a board member at both Mitek Systems Inc. (Russell 2000; NASDAQ: MITK) and LivePerson (Russell 2000; NASDAQ: LPSN). Over the past several years, Hansen has served as a director at 4 public and 7 VC private-equity backed firms. In addition, in 2018 he stepped in as interim CEO at Mitek Systems Inc. while the company completed a new CEO search. From 2002 to 2012, Hansen was chairman/CEO at ID Analytics. He co-founded the company, raised $45 million in venture financing, and built a high-growth, profitable firm serving 280 enterprises and 5 million consumers. In 2012, Hansen orchestrated the sale of the company to LifeLock for $200+ million. Prior to ID Analytics, Hansen was president at HNC Software Inc. (NASDAQ: HNCS), a $1 billion+ global AI software provider in financial services, wireless, and healthcare. HNC was acquired by FICO in 2002. Prior, Hansen was CEO at CASA Inc., a privately-held analytics company acquired by HNC in 1999. Earlier, he held executive roles at CitiGroup, ADP, and JP Morgan Chase. In 2007, Hansen was named Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year (San Diego) and one of four national finalists for E&Y’s U.S. Entrepreneur of the Year. In 1998, he was named the Los Alamos National Laboratory's Entrepreneur of the Year. Hansen holds an A.B in economics from Harvard University and an MBA in finance from The University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
