Troy Cloutier has held almost every imaginable role in banking, having started his career with Lafayette, La.-based MidSouth Bank as a courier in 1992 while studying at UL Lafayette. In 2001 he began work as a commercial loan officer and three years later was named Regional President for the bank’s Houma-Thibodaux market. In 2009 he took over as head of mergers and acquisitions, and two years later was named Chief Banking Officer and Senior Executive Vice President, having played a key role in the $39 million purchase of Many, La.-based Peoples State Bank in 2013. In mid-2015, the bank’s Board of Directors elevated Troy Cloutier to President of the $2 billion bank, which has 57 locations in Louisiana and Texas, citing his leadership through challenging times and vision for the bank’s future. Since 2015, he has been running the day-to-day operations of the bank. A Leadership Lafayette and Leadership Terrebonne graduate, Troy also completed the Rapport Leadership International training program, an intensive training and personal development program that empowers people to be effective leaders. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Lafayette-based regional economic development group One Acadiana and has served as a member of the Independent Community Bankers of America’s PAC since 2007.Troy is a past President of the Louisiana Young Bankers Association and United Way of South Louisiana.
