I pride myself on my work ethic. I'm a long-term, goal-oriented person. I am passionate about and enjoy helping others in a meaningful and stimulating way and I believe that the healthcare field will allow me to do just that. I am a medical student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (Class of 2018). My interests within healthcare are still broad, and over the course of medical school I hope to refine those interests down to a select few that I believe I can contribute most towards. Currently, my interests include: Personalized medicine & pharmacogenomics - the technology that analyzes how genetic makeup affects an individual's response to drugs. Pharmacogenomics aims to develop rational means to optimize drug therapy, with respect to the patients' genotype, to ensure maximum efficacy with minimal adverse effects. Health services research - the primary goals of health services research are to identify the most effective ways to organize, manage, finance, and deliver high quality care; reduce medical errors; and improve patient safety. Medical education, technology, clinical practice and surgery are also all of great interest to me.
