I've been actively involved in several areas of wastewater treatment equipment development for 25 years. Clarifier and thickener drive unit designs have been my specialty but I've also facilitated multiple field installations. Currently I am involved in two different interesting projects: 1-A project with Utah State University developing a machine that maximizes algae growth and harvesting. (https://engineering.usu.edu/news/main-feed/2020/usu-biological-engineering-researchers-get-1-9m-doe-grant) 2- As part of my MS-ETM degree with Utah Valley University I am testing a device that allows water to pass out of an oil bath while retaining the oil. This is potentially beneficial to prolong the life of oil lubricated machinery where water tends to accumulate inside and also minimize maintenanc tasks for operators.
