Nurse Navigator Oncology

I've worked as a public health nurse for the Broome County Health Department then a homecare nurse for Lourdes At Home. Worked as a surgical floor nurse after that at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, then as a nurse casemanager on the cardiac telemetry unit. Created the oncology nurse navigator position at Lourdes hospital. This is an exceptional program that increases the patient satisfaction experience within a very confusing and fragmented health care system as they are diagnosed with cancer. I’ve since moved on to United Health Services and continuing the journey as oncology nurse navigator. My goal is to make it a seamless process for them so they can focus on their goal of maintaining or increasing their health. Being in my eleventh year on this position I feel confident in saying that this role is vital in assisting patients to understand their cancer diagnosis, their options and feel cared for through the continuum of care.
