Vice President, Brand Experience Manager
Liberty Bank: Offering banking, lending, credit card, and investing for both consumers and businesses in Connecticut. Learn more.
I often say I learned much of what I really needed to know about marketing and management by being editor-in-chief of my college student newspaper. I developed good writing/graphic skills, worked against deadlines, managed creative, passionate, stressed folks with competing priorities, maintained budgets and juggled school, work and play. That experience helped me land my first job in advertising while still in college. I then saw that marketing combined a lot of my skills and experience...writing, graphics, communications etc., so I made my way through many different industries to finally end up in banking (which I initially poo-pooed right out of college when my mother who worked in banking hr suggested it!). I've been in banking 10+ years now and it's been quite a journey. I love working on projects large and small, all with the end game of promoting the bank's brand, telling Liberty Bank's story of being a wonderful community bank, helping to improve the customer experience and ultimately helping to support business objectives. It's included mass media advertising and campaigns, branch merchandising and design, and developing ad hoc sales collateral. Outside of work, Liberty encourages volunteerism and I was delighted to redesign a local non-profit's brand and my niece's high school theater playbill. Fun to get to design non-bank materials and be very creative. In addition, I hoard my PTO time to travel and see the world. Ask me to show you my safari pictures or sunsets from all over world or both if you have a few hours to spare. A guilty pleasure when traveling is that I sometimes stop in a foreign bank branch just to see how banking is done elsewhere! Bank of Ireland's branch on Grafton Street in Dublin is my favorite to date (but hope to keep going back to double check!).
