Misha is a passionate and driven communications strategist. As a dedicated founding member of the Black Organizing Project, a community based organization working to increase police accountability and implement alternatives to policing in Oakland schools, Misha worked to lay the foundation for the organization's use of strategic communications and technology while providing communications support for the organization's city-wide organizing campaign.Misha currently works as a Communications Associate for the Advancement Project, a national civil rights organization dedicated to supporting grassroots organizations on a range of social and racial justice issues. Before joining the Advancement Project, Misha worked as Partnerships Manager for The Action Network, an organization that builds digital organizing tools (actionnetwork.org) and helps progressive organizations run effective online campaigns.Misha brings enthusiasm, creativity and a "by any means necessary" attitude to the teams she works with. She was first introduced to community organizing as a student at San Francisco State University and worked for several years in the Bay Area social justice community. She is currently working and living in Washington, D.C. but frequently visits her hometown, Oakland, CA.
