With a professionally diverse background, Melissa brings a variety of skills to the table. Clinical nutrition care, outpatient nutrition counseling, human resources leadership, training initiatives, victim advocacy and leadership development are areas where Melissa has gained experience over the last 20 years. Melissa completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Food & Nutrition from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL, followed by a 9-month professional internship at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, LA. She has worked with a variety of clients across the years in community health initiatives, cancer care, diabetes management, cardiovascular disease management, family-friendly meal planning, personal wellness initiatives and preventative health education. Her passion is to equip individuals with the knowledge to make healthy food choices, repeatedly, over time, with focus on a whole foods based approach to living.
