FCT (First Canadian Title) is a leading title insurance company based in Oakville, Canada providing the services in title insurance, Property Valuation Indemnity Insurance & default solutions.

As Chief Information Officer, Sam is accountable for leveraging technology innovation to support existing and emerging business objectives. Sam is also accountable for end-to-end IT solutions that incorporate all phases of the delivery lifecycle. Sam is responsible for all strategic and operational aspects of technology for FCT, including architecture, application development, information security, infrastructure, business intelligence and technical services. Sam has played a critical role in numerous initiatives, combining his deep technical knowledge with a superb grasp of business needs. He is also recognized for a demeanor and leadership style that make him an invaluable member of the executive leadership team. Prior to his current role, Sam held position as CTO. Since joining FCT in 2006, Sam’s leadership and outstanding performance have been recognized with Awards of Excellence awards in 2007 and First American Title's Financial Services Excellence Award in 2009 and 2010 Sam has diverse business experiences across multiple vertical industries including financial services, insurance, and government sectors coupled with solid technical background. Prior to joining FCT Sam was the Enterprise Architect at Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC). Sam holds a bachelor degree in computer science; he is a licensed Professional Engineer of Ontario (PEng.). He was awarded the title of “Distinguished Certified IT - Chief Architect” from the Open Group (2010). Sam is a member of the Open Group Certification Authority (ITAC) and a member of SyncBase Inc. board of directors. Sam shares his industry knowledge during numerous IT conferences by conducting multiple presentations and case studies on Business-IT alignment & engagement models.
