I am a 1997 graduate of California State University, Long Beach (B.A., History) and a 2001 magna cum laude graduate of Chapman University School of Law, where I was elected Executive Editor of the Chapman Law Review and graduated first in my class. After law school, I clerked for the Honorable G. Barry Anderson of the Minnesota Court of Appeals. Upon the completion of my clerkship, I worked for Kirkland & Ellis, LLP (Los Angeles, CA) as a corporate associate. My practice included mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buy-outs, public company governance matters and bankruptcy asset sales. I moved in house to Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA in December 2004, where I worked for over four years. I managed a wide variety of legal matters including contract review and negotiation; intellectual property matters, including trademark prosecution; franchise matters, including dealer establishments and terminations; commercial litigation related to Yamaha’s secured financing division; and legislative review and analysis. In March 2009, I joined Multi-Fineline Electronix, Inc. ("MFLEX"), a multinational corporation based in Irvine, California, which is listed on NASDAQ under the symbol “MFLX.” I worked on a wide variety of matters, including commercial contracts, intellectual property prosecution and management, SEC reporting, conflict minerals compliance, policy drafting and review, and global human resources issues. I also provided local training for our Asia-based offices on our policies and procedures. In March 2015, I joined mophie, a California-based, award-winning designer and manufacturer of mobile intelligent devices and accessories. Admitted: California (2001); United States Tax Court.
