I've spent the past 6 years working in the healthcare information systems field. Throughout my whole career, I've been reading and modifying HL7, working diligently with clients to serve their needs as a project manager and as a part of a team. In that span of time, I spent 4 of those years as an Interface Analyst utilizing Epic Systems Software. Some of my main responsibilities included multiple 'Epic upgrades', transcription development, and working closely with Epic physicians to tailor our EMR to the specifications that they wanted. I also worked with multiple downstream systems, like Cerner, to translate data and communicate between EMRs. After resigning from this position to pursue different opportunities, I moved onto a role working with a smaller Physical Therapy EMR, as an interface engineer. While EPIC is a large and widely used EMR, I spent the next 2 years working with smaller home grown systems. I was responsible for the entire implementation process after the sale was made. I set up and ran meetings with our clients to modify our EMR (ReDoc) to fit their specific needs. This included setting up the VPN and ports, installing on the client servers, customizations, and all phases of testing all while being the project manager for each client. I mastered time management due to frequently having deadlines for 5-8 clients for ongoing implementations. I eventually accepted another position with Via Oncology in a similar role but with a web based application instead.In my most recent position with Via Oncology, I did more developing of the actual interface engine using JavaScript in the backend. I also performed all of the implementation steps listed in my previous job.
