I am a nature lover with a passion for helping people connect with the environment and to become good social citizens. As Project Manager for the Ōtātara Outdoor Learning Centre I am striving to inspire and engage our young people with nature so that they understand that people and the environment are inextricably linked. I am currently undertaking research focusing on how people connect with land and why these attachments are important to understand. After all, if we can understand what makes people connect with the natural environment we can work to positively influence pro-environmental behaviour.I have particular interests in place attachment, public access, environmental anthropology and research.
