I am a graduate of the Respiratory Care Program at Rush University. I received a Master’s Degree in Science from this program. I have gained many skills while attending Rush University including but not limited to using critical thinking skills at the patient’s bedside and also to help advance the field of respiratory care. I had the unique opportunity to start my respiratory therapy career while I was still a student. While completing my clinical rotations at Edward Hospital I was offered a Respiratory Technician position. During this time, I was able to balance my schoolwork and clinical rotations while also working as a Respiratory Therapy Technician. As a Respiratory Therapy Technician at Edward Hospital, working in the PICU, ICU, and CCU are prohibited. However, due to my experience and willingness to learn I was trained to work in the Emergency Department. After completing my degree and getting my license I became a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Edward Hospital. As I obtained my professional license, I was immediately trained to work in the PICU, ICU and CCU. Currently, I work at Rush Oak Park Hospital full-time and at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital as registry in an attempt to gain more exposure to the field and better my professional skills as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
