I am the Chairman for Duane Morris & Selvam in Asia. I head the Firm's Global Corporate Practice and China Practice. I have extensive corporate law expertise and regularly advise ultra high net worth individuals, private equity funds, investment banks, listed and private companies on banking & finance, corporate finance, SGX compliance, venture capital, capital markets, takeovers, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings and joint ventures. I have also advised banks and project companies on complex financing transactions and has a particular focus on Indonesia and PRC related deals. I shuttle between Shanghai and Singapore on a monthly basis. I have been regarded as one of Asia Pacific's Leading Lawyers by the International Financial Law Review 1000, Legal 500 and AsiaLaw in the areas of Corporate, Banking & Finance and Corporate Governance. I serve as an Independent Director of SGX-listed FJ Benjamin Ltd. I am a member of the Tan Kah Kee International Society and a Visiting Professor of Law at Jimei University, China. I am also the Honorary Legal Adviser to the Char Yong (Dabu) Clan Association. I also founded and chaired the Cambridge University Asian Lawyers Association. I read Law at Christ's College, Cambridge on a Cambridge Commonwealth Trust scholarship where I graduated with Honours. I am an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore and a Solicitor of England and Wales.
