Christopher joined Crisis Text Line in 2023 as Chief of Staff, helping to set strategy for the org to reach and support more people in crisis across the country and around the world. Prior to joining Crisis Text Line, Christopher was Vice President of Brand & Communications at DonorsChoose, managing media relations, social media and content marketing, events and experiences, media partnerships, brand design, and crisis management. Major projects at DonorsChoose have included two week-long fundraising initiatives on Good Morning America; the launch of #ISeeMe, a campaign to support teachers of color and learning resources that help students of all backgrounds see themselves in their learning environment; announcing the world's largest donation in cryptocurrency – $29 million in Ripple's XRP – to fund all 35,000 projects on the site; #BestSchoolDay, a partnership with over 60 celebrities and influencers that helped raise over $16 million for classroom projects; and the organization's annual Partner Summit, featuring speakers including Stephen Colbert, Whoopi Goldberg, Cory Booker, Gwyneth Paltrow, Eric Garcetti, W. Kamau Bell, Sheryl Sandberg, and Ashton Kutcher. Chris has also helped the organization pioneer its model for responding to disasters, helping raise over $12 million for schools impacted by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Michael, and Florence; tornadoes in the Midwest; California wildfires; and historic flooding in Louisiana. Prior to joining DonorsChoose, Christopher led public relations for Magellan Health Services, a specialty health care provider in behavioral health, imaging, and pharmaceutical management. He began his career in the Global Healthcare practice of MSL Group, executing public relations strategy for international pharmaceutical clients, including the Johnson & Johnson Vision Care sponsorship of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
