I have close to 20 years of publishing experience, primarily with the peer-reviewed journals of the American Diabetes Association (ADA). In my current role as the Associate Publisher of ADA’s Scholarly Journals, I am responsible for overseeing and guiding business strategies, peer-review and publishing policies, production workflows, and general print and online operations for four highly regarded STM journals and various ancillary publications. I am the primary point of contact and liaison for ADA journal editors and editorial teams, publications oversight committees, and the Association’s Panel on Ethical Scientific Programs. Through my experience, I have become well versed in all aspects of scholarly journal publishing, including new product and feature launches, licensing and royalty agreements, vendor relations and contract negotiations, coordinating RFPs, implementing new business and access models, and the development of new policies and guidelines related to access, transparency, and research ethics.
