The Delaware Symphony Orchestra (DSO), one of the premier regional orchestras in the United States, has been an integral part of Delaware's cultural life since 1906. Recognized for its artistic excellence, the DSO attracts audiences from throughout Delaware, southeastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Maryland. In addition to performing in traditional concert settings, the DSO has a history of hosting special events and offering an array of programs throughout Delaware, including lectures and other educational programs. The DSO is supported, in part, by the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency committed to promoting and supporting the arts in Delaware. The Delaware Division of the Arts provides technical and financial assistance to artists and arts programs and serves as a clearinghouse for information on the arts.
