Crescent Point Energy is one of Canada's largest light and medium oil producers, with assets across western Canada and the United States.

Clay Radu has extensive experience as a senior IT resource specializing in Oil & Gas IT leadership. He is an outgoing high energy leader who empowers team members to improve business processes through technology. He has recently led data centre and cloud studies to find cost-effective efficient infrastructure hosting solutions and has excellent leadership in directing infrastructure and application projects. Clay has more than 30 years’ experience in Information Systems Leadership specializing in the oil and gas industry. Early in his career Radu developed a mapping system and gained understanding of the land systems of the Western Canada basin. Radu then moved into one of Calgary’s top petroleum engineering consulting firms where he developed reserve economic software and became an Oracle DBA, focusing on the data side of client mergers and acquisitions over a 10-year span. In his first IS management role at a small startup oil and gas company, Radu guided them through a significant number of M&A projects through another 10-year span. Radu spent 12 years with Crescent Point Energy, providing IT leadership and improving business processes. He focused on infrastructure and security over the past 8 years. Clay governed the industry leading security practice at Crescent Point and provided leadership for storage, network, server, and overall data center and Cloud project development and implementations. He is very well connected to both technology and oil and gas solutions. He has managed the IT integration of over 120 M&A projects over 30 years. After studying business at University of Calgary he graduated from the Computer Technology program at SAIT and started his career as a programmer analyst with a small seismic survey company. Clay has received awards for his active participation in the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) and has acted as Chair of the CAPP CIO Forum. Clay represented CAPP with a Y2K Industry technology update to the Government of Canada in Ottawa in 1999 and remains active on a number of industry advisory boards. Clay received his Information Technology Certified Professional (ITCP) of Canada designation in 2009. Clay has also achieved the Certificate of Leadership Excellence from the Banff Centre.
