I am a versatile and self motivated individual. I have been lucky to work in a wide variety that have tested me in numerous ways. While managing a City pool I was able to learn the importance of being able to anticipate demand. I was responsible for ordering all the product the pool would need and I had to take into account weather patterns, outside events and anything else that might effect demand. I also learned to delegate and deal with workers assigned to my supervision. I effectively managed their schedules and day to day operations. While working for the news agency at the RNC I worked effectively in a shifting group of people to accomplish a wide variety of tasks. Not only did this work require extensive teamwork, but there was also a great deal of self motivation required. I needed to be able to see what would be needed before a problem arose in order to ensure that it did not interfere with the broadcast. It also required me to be able to rapidly move from one task to the other. Working for the City of Brookings provided ample opportunity to learn skills for inventory procurement. The inventory management had to take into account the varying wether and day to day changes of the patrons coming to the facilities. This required excellent short term and long management skills. This position also provided extensive experience managing and delegating tasks as a supervisor. The position required managing and employee schedule and adjusting staff levels to meet the needs of a given day or area of supervision.
