Through constant involvement in the agricultural industry since I was young, my passion for advocating for the industry that feeds and fuels the world has grown tremendously. I grew up on a diversified crop and livestock farm and have been expanding my own beef cattle herd since I was nine years old. Aside from showing several beef breeds, I have involved myself in organizations such as 4-H, FFA, and the CAC Media Group. The CAC Media Group is a team of students that travel around the country to produce digital, social, and print media content all revolving around the positive story of agriculture. Through my work with the team, my major accomplishments include giving a TedX Talk titled, "What I Wish You Would Ask Me" which circulates around facing misconceptions specifically within animal agriculture, hosting my own television show, "Agri-Vision" that highlights producers of all ages from many different communities in Iowa, and after winning a proficiency award in the area of agricultural communications at the 2022 FFA State Leadership Conference, I was selected as a National Finalist and will compete with students from all across the United States. With my work in agricultural communications, I have been able to improve my skills which include interviewing professionalism, the ability to speak in public clearly and coherently, and journalism techniques that are unique to modern writing.
