I help enable companies to use their favorite frameworks and services to build products for the modern, multi-channel world. My prior product development experience often involved working closely with key customers as well as sales and marketing teams, and I've also enjoyed playing the role of technical evangelist to Enterprise customers in sales situations. My first startup experience was joining Elon Musk's first startup, Zip2, as the VP of Product Development as well as being the first executive he hired into the company. We developed one of the first Enterprise SaaS platforms which powered the Web presence of over 200 media companies including the New York Times, Hearst and Knight-Ridder. After Zip2 was acquired by AltaVista I led the development of AltaVista Live - the company's first portal, as well as leading the efforts to launch AltaVista throughout Europe. I've had the privilege of hiring and mentoring a large number of talented individuals, many of whom have become CEO's, VP's and CTO's of both public companies as well as some of the leading startups in Silicon Valley. For fun, I'm currently developing the Spotify plugin in Node.js for the open source Volumio audiophile music player.
