Mr. Aaron Johnson's professional experience has been in finance and academia. Currently, Mr. Johnson serves as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Albany State University - West Campus. In this role, he is also their Economics Spokesperson where he contributes to TV, newspapers and community groups as a resource to local, regional, and national economic trends. His work has been featured in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Daily Caller, and Albany Herald. Before transitioning to academia, he worked in economic analysis, finance, and banking with Edward Jones, AT&T (formerly Southwestern Bell, and the Office of Comptroller of Currency.Presently, he is the Chairman of the Monroe High School Local School Governance Team and an appointed Commissioner of the Albany/Dougherty Planning Commission.He is also a 2012 alumnus of the Congressional Black Caucus Political Training and Leadership Bootcamp. In 2009, he was recognized as one of the Top 40 under 40 in Southwest Georgia by the Albany Herald. Specialties: Strong oral presentation skills where I communicate with various media outlets; Excellent writing skills that have been used in reporting economic news; writing grants and creating academic programs; create recruiting strategies aimed at incorporating schools, businesses, and local community; incorporating learning technology to enhance student interactivity; developing curriculum focused on improving critical thinking skills; and teaching active reading techniques.
