Steven is the Technical Director of Cherry Bekaert’s Assurance Group and the Leader of the Firms SEC practice . He also provides audit services to clients in the technology, health and life sciences, and industrial sectors. With over 20 years of accounting and auditing experience, Steven has worked with development stage enterprises, venture capital-backed companies, multi-location and multinational corporations, ranging from pre-revenue up to revenues of more than $1 billion. He has extensive experience with IPO readiness, SEC reporting, documentation and quality control procedures, and PCAOB standards. Steven also has knowledge of and experience in implementing the internal control audit requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. In addition, his background includes dealing with a variety of transactions, such as debt and private equity financing, IPOs, and mergers and acquisitions. Serving as a Senior Audit Manager with Cherry Bekaert through 2011, Steven re-joined the Firm in 2017. He previously worked in the Division of Inspections for the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). Steven also held audit supervisory and managerial roles with Big Four and regional accounting firms.
