Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is the sixth largest public school system in the United States and the second largest in the state of Florida. BCPS is Florida's first fully accredited school system since 1962.

I have worked in the Broward County Public School District since 1979. My work in the district began as a mathematics teacher and has progressed to multiple supervisory roles. I was part of the pioneering team of educators who implemented Broward Virtual School, the virtual middle and high school for the school district. As a Project Manager for the Technology Department of the school district I supervised numerous instructional technology initiatives that made system-wide improvements in the integration of technology into all curriculum areas. These experiences led me to the position of Assistant Director for the district-wide ERP project implementation from 2007-2011 where I oversaw the Organizational Change Management and the Training and Support Departments leading to a successful implementation of over 22 SAP modules. In 2011 I moved back to a school-based position as Assistant Director at Sheridan Technical College where I supervised the development and delivery, as well as monitored staff, in blended and online technical programs. This included the Career Dual Enrollment program with all high schools in the school district. As Intern Principal at Sheridan Technical High School we built a high school of 600 students, 150 students per grade level. We opened up this school of choice in August 2014 with 150 ninth grade students. Each year we will increase enrollment by 150 students, such that by the 2017-2018 school year we will reach capacity at 600 students. In July 2015 I started my position as Director, Innovative Learning helping the School District implement the program's associated with the SMART Bond deployment. I supervise the Instructional Technology, Library Media, Instructional and Digital Materials, and the Gifted and Talented district departments. I am also an adjunct professor for Florida Atlantic University teaching Instructional Leadership online.
