Accomplished communications professional with 15 years of experience and a strong background in strategic communications, public affairs, public relations, media relations, project management and team development in the higher education, public policy and foundation sectors. Successful track record building brands, managing large-scale marketing efforts, creating efficiencies and building teams that produce results. Accomplishments Include: -Played a leading role in the culture change efforts required to transform Brookings into an award-winning digital first organization by finding ways to “bite-size” policy through blogging and other digital products. This move has led to an expanded audience and more engagement with our stakeholders. It has also burnished Brookings’ reputation as an innovator in the think tank universe. -Pioneered a grassroots approach to digital civic engagement by creating ACTion Alexandria and Spring2ACTion, ground-breaking online civic engagement platforms devoted to building the digital and fundraising capacity of nonprofits, as well as building a new base of philanthropic support for them within the community. ACTion Alexandria and Spring2ACTion have raised more than $4 million for nonprofits providing services in Alexandria, Virginia.
