Ashley Gossen is an economic development professional who specializes in regional marketing and communications. Gossen joined the Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP) in May 2014 as the Director of Marketing and Communications. She is responsible for the messaging and promotion of the Greater San Marcos region and the GSMP brand through public relations, advertising, event planning, e-mail communications, strategic brand alignment and social media. In her time at GSMP, she has overseen the region's announcements of several new employers including Urban Mining Company, Coast Flight Training, Amazon.com, Best Buy, and Fashion Glass & Mirror. Previously with the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, Gossen served as the Media Director where she oversaw the organization's public relations efforts. Her work with the Austin Chamber included leading several relocation announcements such as HID Global, VISA, athenahealth, Dropbox and Oracle. Additionally, she assisted in the British Airways direct route to ABIA roll out and marketing in 2013. She also initiated and coordinated the strategic alignment of SXSW Interactive with the Chamber's entrepreneurial initiative known as the Austin A-List. Prior to the Austin Chamber, Gossen was an event planner for High Beam Events coordinating official parties for South by Southwest 2012.Gossen is a member of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC), and Team Texas. She is an active member of the IEDC Young Professionals Committee, participates on the TEDC Communications and Conference Committees, and for the last three years she has been on the Public Relations Committee for Seton Hays Foundation's Taking Care of Tiny Texans Gala, of which she chaired in 2016 and 2017. Gossen expects to sit for the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) exam in January 2018. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from The University of Texas at Austin.
