I love being in a role that is all about people! We are all perfectly imperfect, which adds to the dynamic and rewarding experience of being a people partner. We live in a time where systems and processes so easily dominate the work experience, that the human element and sense of community and care requires a real commitment and intentionality. I see the workplace, whether in the office or remote, as a special place where people find belonging/community and each person brings inherent value. I believe HR is a key partner and a culture champion that is uniquely placed in an organization to enable success. We care for the people that care for the business, which is a recipe for retention, attracting talent, increasing engagement, growing the business, and truly living out our cultural values and behaviors. HR brings joy to me for the following reasons: 1) It is all about engaging and connecting with people, which is fantastic and in alignment with how I am wired. 2) Every day is an act of service, which is one of my core values. I have the opportunity to empower individuals and the organization in so many ways! 3) I am a partner, an advocate, and an ambassador for great company culture and values. In fact, I have been called our Culture Champion on numerous occasions because I strive to embody our core principles and lead through example. 4) It is FUN! I will admit, I am not your stereotypical HR person (Toby Flenderson of The Office). My days consist of much laughter, upbeat energy, great people, and so much more.
